LEARN MORE

Joe Infurchia AKA Joeyi

Joe holds Music Degrees from BOTH University of Connecticut (UConn) and Western Connecticut State University (WCSU). His development as the pop artist he is today came from a vast array of influences. Growing up in a large musical family he began piano lessons in 2nd grade. From a young age he learned to appreciate and stayed immersed in all kinds of music. He always stayed up late listening to 90’s top 40 countdowns on the radio every week in conjunction with keeping many other styles close to his heart. While taking piano lessons he would sound out many of the songs he heard from his nightstand on a little tan Casio alarm clock radio. Driving places listening to Billy Joel and all of the Beatles albums on cassette were mainstays growing up. He also learned to play acoustic guitar with his father in order to play bluegrass on the their back porch at night when he came home from work. Being in musicals all through high school and learning many numbers on solo piano from shows like “The Fantasticks” or Disney movies like “Toy Story” was normal... all while blasting rock bands such as Weezer, Green Day, Collective Soul, and Third Eye Blind while doing chores with his brothers. His piano teachers always kept him steeped in classical pieces throughout all these younger years, seeing composers such as Chopin, Mozart, Beethoven and Debussy regularly. His growth reached a new level when as a teen his father turned him onto the New Orleans piano music of Dr. John, Fats Domino, James Booker and Professor Longhair. This gave him a whole new style he loved to grab influence from, all amidst the heavy classical studies while at college. Since graduating in 2011, Joe has opened his own music studio and teaches 40+ students a week. His direct pupil lineage to Beethoven is mirrored by his own success as both an artist and teacher.

Joe is a member of ASCAP. He now writes, records, and performs his own pop hits. His vast musical background shaped his ripe talent. These days you can see many of his originals and covers posted on youtube.
